The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced significant decisions regarding the Pakistan cricket team in a recent meeting, attended by PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi and team coach Gary Kirsten. Major decisions were taken regarding the Pakistan cricket team in this meeting. After this meeting, it is now clear what is going to happen next.
Pakistan Cricket team was giving bad performance for the last 6 months includes the ODI world cup which was played in India and T20 World Cup which was played in the USA and West Indies in the last month.
Pakistan cricket team’s performance was very poor in both these world cups. Especially, In this T20 world cup, Pakistan even not qualified for Super Eight. Pakistan was eliminated in the first round in this T20 world cup 2024.
The reason for this bad performance was the grouping in the Pakistan team which was going on for the last 6 months but nobody knew about it now after losing badly in the T20 world cup all the things are coming out.
Pakistan cricket team coach also said in a statement a few days ago that Pakistan cricket team does not play like a team and some players in Pakistan team do not follow the captain or coach’s advice or planning and just play for themselves.
Now PCB chairman has clearly said that in the future the player who goes against the discipline in the team will not get any forgiveness and such a player will not have a place in the team at all. There is a lot of controversy in this matter.
Head coach will have more power in team selection
it has also been decided that most of the rights of team selection will be with Pakistan team’s coaches Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie.
In the past team selection was solely above the selectors, the coaches had no work in it but now the coaches and team selectors who are Mohammad Yousaf and Asad Shafiq should join together and select the team.
